Hear the Train a-Comin'

Get ready NW Austin: Train horns will be a-honkin’ for your safety! As rail line construction proceeds on the tracks near neighborhoods along FM 620, Parmer Lane, Lakeline and Avery Ranch, MetroRail and freight trains will be required to use their horns.
Crews will be on the line working through the end of the summer. Capital Metro will work to ensure minimal disruption to these neighborhoods and does apologize for the inconvenience.
According to CapMetro: “MetroRail is replacing the rail, ties, and ballast in the Lakeline, Parmer, and Avery Ranch areas. When crews are working on this project, train and work equipment engineers will be sounding their horns to warn the on-track personnel of their approach. In many cases, train and work equipment engineers will also sound their horns when they are approaching the grade crossings in this area. Under normal circumstances and operation, engineers do not sound their horns at the crossings in this area because they are in a quiet zone. However, because the quiet zone is in a construction zone, we will be sounding the horns for the safety of our on-track and train crews.”
Might we suggest the a train-song playlist to make the lonesome call of the choo-choo a little less aggravating?
